The Blue Ridge Soil and Water Conservation District is accepting applications
for a two year, full time TMDL Conservation Technician. (Position currently
funded for two years with potential for continuation beyond two years).
Successful candidate will provide technical assistance to landowners as they
implement agricultural Best Management Practices (BMPs) under the Pigg River
TMDL state cost share program. Candidates should be knowledgeable in areas of
conservation, agriculture, surveying, and map reading. A background in
agriculture, natural resources, environmental studies, or a related field is
desired. The successful applicant must have the abilities to maintain effective
working relationship with associates and to coordinate programs with cooperating
agencies. Applicants will have an associate or higher degree in an agricultural
related field. General computer skills, strong oral and written communications,
and organizational skills are desirable. Salary will be commensurate with
experience, ability, and education. A valid Virginia driver’s license and
