Lucy the Whale

Lucy the Whale will make scheduled visits to a variety of schools. She is a 55 foot inflatable Fin Whale and comes from the world of dolphins, whales and porpoises. Approximately 20-25 elementary aged children can walk inside this whale to observe the skeletal system and learn about the importance of blubber.

Thank you to Ideal Lumber for donating most of the supplies needed and John Richardson's Environmental Science II (Gereau Center for Applied Technology and Career Exploration) classes for successfully constructing this project for the District.

To find out if Lucy the Whale will fit in your school gymnasium, contact Kathy Smith at the BRSWCD at 483-5341 ext. 117.
