Virginia Freedom of information Act (FOIA)

The Blue Ridge Soil & Water Conservation District (BRSWCD) charges for producing records as a result of requests made under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

Effective June 26, 2023 the Blue Ridge SWCD will charge for producing records because of requests made under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). In accordance with those provisions outlined in the Code of Virginia §2.2-3704, the following fees will be accessed for searching, accessing, duplicating, and supplying records (which include redaction):

Section 1.01        Hourly Rate:  $22.5/hour; minimum 1 hour; all subsequent time to be    charged in 15-minute increments at the rate of $5.63/15-minutes

Section 1.02        Copy & Printing Fees:

(a)      Black & White Copies – 0.10/side

(b)     Color Copies – 0.30/side

Section 1.03        FOIA: request for public records and who will oversee the public body's compliance with the provisions of section 2.2-3704.2.C has been designated for the Blue Ridge SWCD as the Program Manager/Education Coordinator.
